National Mall Metrobus crash victim treated by Army soldiers on morning run
A pair of United States Army soldiers helped tend to a man who was seriously injured when he was hit by a Metrobus Wednesday morning on the National Mall, the Washington Post says.
The soldiers, Sgts. John Russell and Brian Wilson, were jogging on the Mall near 7th Street and Madison Drive Northwest when they heard the man get hit. The Post says that the Joint Base Myer-based soldiers were able to stem the victim's bleeding from his head and leg while waiting for first responders to arrive.
Police say the victim suffered a severe leg fracture in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
