RGIII cleared to play in Redskins' season opener

According to, after eight months of speculations and injury updates, Robert Griffin III has been cleared to play in the Washington Redskins' season opener.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan announced after Thursday's preseason game against the Buccaneers that RGIII officially was cleared by Dr. James Andrews after an examination.

Griffin couldn't contain his excitement and posted a photo on Twitter along with the following tweet:

"Operation Patience....Complete. Cleared. To God Be The Glory."
