Shane Miller competent to stand trial on stabbing, rape charges
A Glen Burnie man accused of stabbing and raping a woman last December has been found competent to stand trial, The Capital Gazette reports.
Shane Miller, 37, allegedly held a woman against her will and then stabbed and raped her in his apartment on Secluded Post Circle. Afterwards, police say Miller forced the woman into his car and drove her to the Food Lion. She quietly told the store's staff to call the police.
The Capital reports Miller had been committed to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in March for examination.
Miller is charged with 16 counts, including first-degree felony rape, robbery and false imprisonment. He could spend his life behind bars if convicted of first-degree rape.
Miller is expected to stand trial in November.
