Uber and D.C. Taxicab Commission square off in new fight
WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Uber Cab Company and the D.C. Taxicab Commission are squaring off in a new fight.
DCTC passed a new set of regulations which bans mid-sized, fuel-efficient vehicles from being hired, as well as places color restrictions on those cars.
Uber spoke out, saying the new rules are aimed at preventing it from operating in the city and that it's a move by the commission to restrict competition.
However in a report, members of the D.C. Taxicab Commission say they believe these new rules will strike appropriate balance for everyone.
Uber says they will continue to fight on this issue.
