'Blair Witch Project' director holds casting call in Frederick for new movie
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A horror movie director was looking for movie extras in Frederick.
Radio station WTOP-FM reports Eduardo Sanchez, who directed "The Blair Witch Project," was at a Frederick street festival on Saturday holding a casting call.
Sanchez said he was looking for about 300 people to participate in a party scene in his upcoming movie, "Maulers," which will be filmed at a mall in Frederick.
Sanchez said he was looking for people ages 18 to 30 and looking for "some unique looks." Sanchez says his film is a horror movie about a group of teenagers that go to a rave inside an abandoned mall. It ends up being a trap.
Sanchez says he hopes to start filming at the mall later this year.
