2013 flu vaccine to be shipped nationwide by mid-September
Autumn is just around the corner, and the onset of fall always means the onset of flu season.
The Centers for Disease Control says that flu vaccine producers will ship 135 million doses nationwide, which should be widely available by later this month and into October.
CDC officials recommend that everyone over the age of 6 months gets their yearly flu vaccine by later than October.
Doctors have not yet issued any predictions on how severe this year's flu season will be on the heels on what was a long-lasting and tough year in many parts of America last year.
Young children, the elderly and people with immune system problems are more susceptible to developing health problems if they catch the flu.
