American Dream becoming more elusive, reports Washington Post
The Washington Post is reporting that four years into an economic recovery, it seems that the American Dream is becoming more elusive to Americans.
According to a Washington Post-Miller Center Poll, Americans shared their thoughts on what it means to be successful, and how confident they are in the country's future.
According to the Post, “their faith in a brighter tomorrow has been eroded by intensifying struggles on the job and at home that have led some to conclude that the United States has emerged from the Great Recession a fundamentally changed nation.”
The poll found that Americans believe it is increasingly difficult to cover even basic living expenses, and that they often view their position in the workplace as stagnant and unmoving.
