Bowie schools locked down after attempted robbery, shots fired

Three Bowie schools were locked down Friday morning after an attempted robbery and shooting in an area just off Annapolis Road, officials say.

The attempted robbery happened at about 8:40 a.m. in the 5400 block of Epponians Choice Drive, Prince George's County Police say. No one was hit or injured after a shot was reportedly fired.

As a result of nearby police activity, Glenn Dale Elementary School, Robert Goddard French Immersion School and Robert Goddard Montessori were all locked down.

The lockdown was lifted just before 11 a.m.
