Department of Energy cyber attack compromises 53,000 employees
As many as 53,000 Department of Energy employees were at risk of having their identities stolen during a July cyber attack, Federal News Radio says, far more than originally reported.
Federal News Radio says that the agency originally believed that 14,000 of its workers potentially had personal information compromised in the attack, which included names, social security numbers and other information.
July's attack on the Department of Energy's systems was the second such incident in 2013.
