Four men charged with blowing up mailboxes in Anne Arundel County

(WJLA) - Four young adults were arrested early Thursday morning and stand accused of blowing up mailboxes in an Anne Arundel County neighborhood.

Authorities say that just after 1 a.m., they began receiving emergency calls from people who had heard explosions in the area of Patuxent Manor Road in Davidsonville. As they arrived, responding officers heard a mailbox explode.

Anne Arundel County Police say that another mailbox on Stocketts Run Road blew up a short time later.

Police later pulled over a car with four men that contained evidence linking them to the explosions. The driver of the car, an unidentified 17-year-old man, was charged with DUI, marijuana possesion, possession of fireworks without a permit and the use of a destructive device.

Three others in the car, 19-year-old Arthur Reith, 18-year-old Carter Harrison and 19-year-old James Stevens, were all charged with marijuana possession, along with manufacturing, possessing and using a destructive device
