Instagram ads could come within the year
Advertisements are about to join the stream of pictures of animals, food and people in Instagram, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Instagram's new COO, Emily White, told the Wall Street Journal Sunday that the company's long-term goal is to make money and that the platform should be ready to sell and host ads within a year.
Analysts believe that Instagram could be making hundreds of millions of dollars off of advertising, but it risks alienating at least a portion of the platform's hundreds of millions of users.
