It's a stunning admission that will likely put a young man behind bars for a long time - and it was all done in the public eye.

WBNS in Columbus reports that Matthew Cordle released a video online admitting to being drunk when he hit and killed a man in a drunk driving crash on June 22.

The crash happened on Interstate 670 just north of downtown Columbus earlier this summer, WBNS says, during which Cordle was driving the wrong when when he crashed into a car driven by Vincent Canzani.

"I'm handing the prosecution everything they need to put me away for a very long time," Cordle said in his video.

Cordle said in the video that he begs others to not drink and drive, lest they put themselves in his position.

Before the taped confession, WBNS says that Cordle had not been charged in connection with the crash.
