The Smithsonian's National Zoological Park is auctioning off the chance to name one of the newborn Sumatran tiger cubs born on August 5!

The Zoo's rare Sumatran tiger, Damai, gave birth to two cubs – one male and one female. While the cubs won’t be on exhibit for several months, one lucky winning bidder will have the chance to name one of the baby tigers.

The chance hit the auction block this week at global charity auction site Charitybuzz.com. The opportunity is valued at $50,000 and is up for auction through Tuesday, September 17. Current bids are at $22,500.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit Friends of the National Zoo. Photos and videos of the cubs can be seen at Flickr.
