Power outage in NE D.C. affects over 60

A power outage in Northeast Washington Sunday morning affected nearly 2,400 customers. By 2 p.m., a little over 60 customers were still without power.

Pepco reports the outage in the area of 48th Street and Sheriff Road NE was caused by a bird flying into electrical equipment.

In Virginia, there were about 700 outages in the Herndon area, but power has since been restored.
