Ronald W. Cheek accused of raping missing minor
A Greenbelt man is accused of raping a missing minor in a La Plata hotel this week.
Police say Ronald W. Cheek, 43, forced the victim to perform sexual acts in exchange for crack cocaine. On Tuesday, troopers located the minor, who had been reported missing in Virginia earlier that day, in a hotel room on Chesapeake Street. The victim told police she had been traveling with Cheek.
A second female was also found in the hotel room.
Cheek was found to be operating a vehicle on a suspended license and was immediately placed under arrest. Troopers learned he had an outstanding warrant for theft in Texas and another warrant in Baltimore County for driving an uninsured vehicle. Police say Cheek also had cocaine in his possession.
Cheek faces several charges, including human trafficking, second-degree rape, fourth-degree sex acts with a minor and possession of crack cocaine.
