Rosemarie Bowie leaves Arlington Public Library $700,000 in will
In a stunning piece of generosity, an Arlington woman who passed away earlier this summer left hundreds of thousands of dollars to a county library she loved.
ARLNow reports that Rosemarie Bowie, a longtime Arlington resident who died in June, left the Arlington Public Library her home and half of her estate - an amount that totals roughly $726,000.
"It epitomizes how so many people in this community feel about the Library and that's very humbling," Arlington Public Library Director Diane Kresh told ARLNow.
According to Arlington County's proposed 2013 budget, the county planned to spend about $12 million on libraries during the fiscal year.
