Target considers downtown D.C. store
Big box retailer Target is considering opening a new location in downtown D.C., but that plan is on hold until the building where the chain would become a tenant is sold.
Plans were well underway for Target to move into a location at the corner of 11th and E Streets NW, according to a report in The Washington Post, but talks have slowed while the building's current owners work to sell the property. Uncertainty about whether or not a new owner would want Target as a tenant has also complicated plans for the new store, which would be located in a space previously occupied by ESPN Zone.
