HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WJLA) -- A group of Walmart protestors in P.G. County joined others across the country today to protest the illegal firing of approximately 70 employees they say participated in a federally protected march in June.

Two busloads came down from D.C. and Landover to rally in defense, and six were arrested after putting themselves in danger on Route 450 in Landover Hills.

In New York City on Thursday, three fired workers were arrested in a similar protest and charged with disorderly conduct.

Walmart has released a statement saying that they will continue to serve their customers in 4,600 locations, and called the protests "a handful of union-orchestrated media stunts."
