Washington Nationals beat Miami Marlins, 6-4
MIAMI (AP) - Stephen Strasburg got past a shaky start and pitched six innings to earn his first victory in nearly a month as the Washington Nationals beat the Miami Marlins 6-4 on Sunday.
Strasburg (7-9) struck out seven and allowed four runs and four hits. He also hit a batter, threw a wild pitch and had two balks. It was his first win since Aug. 11 against Philadelphia.
Rafael Soriano pitched the ninth for his 39th save in 45 chances.
Wilson Ramos and Ian Desmond each had three hits and drove in two runs for the Nationals. Ryan Zimmerman and Ramos homered and Denard Span extended his hitting streak to 19 games, the longest active streak in the majors.
Justin Ruggiano had three of the Marlins' six hits and Jacob Turner (3-6) allowed five runs in four innings.
