(CNN) - Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. on Nov. 3, allowing you to gain back that hour of sleep (for at least one night).

Sleep experts say that even though its easier to gain an hour rather than losing it, both affect your circadian rhythms in the same way. Experts do say that there are ways to reset your sleep pattern and prepare for the end of DST before it ends.

Doctors recommend that you modify your schedule early - at least a week before the time change. In some cases, people have found success setting clocks an hour behind to prepare your body and ease into a new pattern.

Other tips include keeping well hydrated, staying active during the day and adjusting your medication schedule. Doing all of these things a few days before the time change helps regulate melatonin, the hormone that helps inner body clocks adjust.
