Fairfax County school bus cameras considered by officials
(WJLA) - Fairfax County may be the next place where cameras are installed on school buses to catch drivers who run stop signs, Fairfax Times reports.
Officials in the county, which operates Virginia's largest school system, say that a recent survey indicates that bus drivers observed more than 1,800 drivers illegally passing school buses in a single day.
"I think this is the right thing to do, and I think it is horrible that we have people violating the passing of stopped school buses," Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Sharon Bulova told Fairfax Times.
She worries, though, about who would pick up the costs of the cameras.
