George Waters, David Nkemtitah indicted in inmate beating case

Two Prince George’s County law enforcement officers were indicted in connection with the alleged beating of an inmate.

Sheriff’s deputy George Rogers was indicted on one count of second degree assault and two counts of misconduct in office. Corrections officer David Nkemtitah was indicted on one count of misconduct in office.

Authorities say Rogers was processing a detainee when he got into an argument with him, hit him in the head and then took him to an isolated area of the jail, where he assaulted him.

Rogers was indicted on one count of second degree assault and two counts of misconduct in office, while Nkemtitah was indicted on one count of misconduct in office.

Nkemtitah is accused of trying to cover up the incident.
