HHS working to fix glitches with healthcare.gov
The Department of Health and Human Services, tasked with managing the rollout of federal enrollment sites connected to the Affordable Care Act, is said to be "scrambling" to fix glitches in its server systems, Federal Times reports.
An enormous crush of users attempting to log on, get information on health care plans and eventually enroll with insurers has caused continued accessibility problems for thousands of people.
HHS officials told Federal Times that they simply didn't expect the volume of traffic on the sites to be this high, despite administration goals of enrolling 7 million people under the ACA during its first year.
The agency is now working with its contractors to expand server capacity and fix software issues as they arise.
