Jay Briley sentenced for assaulting U.S. Park Police
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - A Fairfax man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for assaulting U.S. Park Police who found him naked in a car on Daingerfield Island.
Fifty-two-year-old Jay Bonanza Briley was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Alexandria. He had been convicted in March of assaulting, resisting, opposing, and impeding officers of the U.S. Park Police.
According to court documents, officers tried to arrest Briley for disorderly conduct on Jan. 12, 2012. Prosecutors say Briley refused to get out of the car, kicked an officer in the stomach and dragged two officers several yards when he tried to run away after leaving the car.
