John Barwis arrested, David Russell sought in Loudoun home invasion

One man is in custody and another is sought in connection with an armed home invasion-style robbery in Purcellville.

John C. Barwis, 23, was arrested on Tuesday and is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

A second suspect, David C. Russell, 21, is wanted in connection with the armed robbery.

Police say on Monday night, Barwis and Russell entered an apartment in the 100 block of North 21st Street and assaulted a resident before stealing cash. The victim was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

More arrests are likely, according to police.
