Kyle Aldridge death: Grandfather won't face criminal charges
The grandfather of a child killed after falling from a float in the Annapolis 4th of July parade won't face criminal charges, The Capital Gazette reports.
Police say Kyle Aldridge, 7, was riding on the trailer which was being driven by his grandfather, Jason Hicks, when he tried to get off while the vehicle was still moving. Police say Kyle fell and was hit by a rear trailer tire.
Kyle was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Attorneys say Hicks could not have been aware of what was happening nor could he have done anything to prevent it.
