(WJLA) - Maryland State Police officials are slowly reopening lanes on the Capital Beltway after a tractor-trailer accident in Prince George's County shut down all lanes on the Inner Loop earlier this morning.
The accident occurred as a tractor-trailer pulling a mobile home was traveling southbound on the inner loop near Route 50 when it struck another semi-truck pulling two trailers behind it.
A third vehicle, a car, struck the mobile home, which detached from the semi-truck. The driver of that car was transported to Prince George's Hospital Center in serious condition.
The accident has backed up traffic along the inner loop. Commuters are being diverted onto Route 450 to detour around the crash site.
