Mother shot while watching child's soccer game in Manassas
A mother watching her child’s soccer game in Manassas over the weekend was wounded by gunfire.
The 43-year-old woman was sitting in a chair at George Hellwig Memorial Park, in the 14000 block of Bristow Road, on Sunday when she felt a sharp pain in her thigh.
The mother believed she might have been shot by a BB gun. When she went to a hospital for treatment, she discovered she was shot by a .22 caliber bullet. Her injury was not life-threatening.
