Bruce Dern insists he’s won a million dollars – thanks to a direct-mail ad in the movie “Nebraska.” He starts out for Lincoln on foot and won’t give up, so finally his son, Will Forte, gives in.

Shot in black and white and directed by Alexander Payne – the man who brought us “Sideways” and “The Descendants” – "Nebraska" spins a quirky story filled with oddballs who never cease to surprise and delight.

Worth four stars, don’t be surprised when Nebraska joins in this year’s Oscar sweepstakes.

This weekend, "Thor" won the box office, but the romantic comedy “Best Man Holiday” made a strong $31 million.
