Dow Jones tops 16,000 for first time in history

The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed to a record high Monday morning, topping 16,000 for the first time in its history, according to a CNBC report.

The S&P 500 also set a record Monday, surpassing 1,800 for the first time in its history. The record highs in the market indicators are largely credited to optimism stemming from the Federal Reserve's continued stimulus program.
