Injured Prince George's County firefighter to be released
(WJLA) - The final hospitalized firefighter who was injured battling a fire in Forestville on Saturday will be released from the hospital Monday.
Prince George's County Fire spokesman Mark Brady said on Twitter that the captain, who was being treated for possible airway burns, will be discharged.
The captain and two other firefighters were taken to area hospitals for treatment after being injured fighting a fire Saturday morning on Walters Lane in Forestville. The rapidly-spreading fire forced firefighters to evacuate the Cape Cod-style home.
Three residents of the home got out; one of them, an elderly woman, was taken to the hospital for evaluation. All three are expected to be fine.
The two other firefighters who were injured, both of whom suffered burns to their wrists, arms and ears, have already been treated and released.
A cause for the fire has not been established.
