Metro official: Woman falls on top of Orange Line train in suicide attempt
(WJLA) - A woman fell on top of a moving Orange Line train early Sunday morning in what Metro officials say was a suicide attempt. She suffered minor injuries.
Officials say the woman jumped over a wall at Eastern Market and landed on top of the train bound for New Carrollton. She rode one stop to Potomac Avenue, where she was greeted by police and emergency crews.
The woman was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
Trains were delayed for 12 minutes because of the incident, Metro officials tell The Washington Post.
