No McDonald's turns into custody issue for New York dad
A father in Manhattan is suing a court-appointed psychiatrist for defamation after she told a judge in a custody hearing that the dad was an unfit parent because he refused to take his son to McDonald's.
According to a report from The New York Post, the issue arose during David Schorr's weekly visit with his 4-year-old son, when Schorr refused to give into his son's demands that they eat dinner at McDonald's. Schorr gave his son an ultimatum: dinner at a restaurant other than McDonald's or no dinner at all, and the child picked the latter option.
After one last-ditch effort to convince his son to eat elsewhere, Schorr dropped his son off at his mother's home. The child told his mother what had happened and she immediately called a psychiatrist and took her son to McDonald's.
