Rosslyn elevator accident nearly severs man's hand

An elevator repair worker nearly severed his hand Thursday morning after it got caught in a pulley system, ARLNow reports. 

It happened around 9:45 a.m. at 1300 17th Street N. in Rosslyn. 

The man's co-workers were able to untangle him from the cables and pulley by the time paramedics arrived. 

Emergency workers tell ARLNow the worker's hand was partially severed at the palm. He was transported to George Washington University Hospital.
