The U.S. Marshals Service is being criticized for perceived overspending on a number of branded promotional items that totaled $800,000 over a six-year span.

Federal Times reports that the agency's spending on challenge coins, scarves, ties and other items jumped by nearly 1,000 percent over that time period.

The report indicates that the Marshals Service spent $13,600 alone on branded Christmas ornaments.
