RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Department of Education has unveiled a new instructional video about the history and culture of the 11 state-recognized American Indian tribes.

It's entitled The Virginia Indians: Meet the Tribes. The department says the video features Keenan Stewart, a fifth-grader at Charles City Elementary School and a member of the Chickahominy tribe, answering classmates' questions about the state's tribes.

The video can be found on the Virginia's First People Past and Present website. The website is designed as an instructional guide for elementary, middle and high school teachers. It includes information, maps, lesson plans, links and other resources.
