Arlington police investigate Crystal City pedestrian-involved crash

ARLINGTON, Va. (WJLA) - A 38-year-old man was seriously injured overnight when he was hit by a taxi while walking along Route 1 in Arlington, officials say.
An Arlington County Police investigation involved a single vehicle ran into a pedestrian in the southbound lanes of Jefferson Davis Highway between 20th and 23rd Streets. Authorities believe the victim was hit by a cab while trying to cross a wide portion of Jefferson Davis Highway.
The unidentified victim was taken to George Washington Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police closed the southbound lanes of Jefferson Davis Highway during the accident recreation investigation, but all lanes reopened in time for the brunt of rush hour traffic.
The driver of the taxi was not charged.
