(WJLA) - The United States Army spent more than $5 million on equipment in Afghanistan it used not once, Government Executive reports.

The Army Corps of Engineers spent $5.4 million on incinerators for use at Forward Operating Base Sharana in Afghanistan, but after receiving them, they realized they weren't fit for use.

Specifically, officials say that the untested equipment had electrical problems and could only have been used to 80 percent of their capacity.
