Eric Toth, the 31-year-old man who once taught 3rd grade at the Beauvoir School on the National Cathedral's grounds, will spend between 22 and 30 years in prison as part of his plea agreement.

He pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to three counts of producing child pornography and additional counts of misuse of a Social Security number and identity theft.

Toth spent years on the run in Nicaragua before being tracked down and caught by federal law enforcement officers in April. He once appeared on the FBI's list of most wanted fugitives.

Federal officials say that he took the photos over the course of three years between 2005 and 2007 at various locations, including at a youth camp, on the school's grounds and at a home in Maryland.

The teacher was covert in his attempt to generate the pornography. Prosecutors say he hid cameras in air fresheners in the school's boys bathroom. At the boys camp, he took nude pictures of and fondled a young boy while he slept.

"His reprehensible acts scar children for life. By entering a global plea, the victims of this child predator will not be further traumatized," Montgomery County State's Attorney John McCarthy said in a statement.

Authorities nearly tracked him down in Phoenix in 2009 while he worked at a homeless shelter, but by the time officials got there, he had vanished again, leaving behind a laptop computer with further pornography on it.
