Firefighters rescue dog from frigid Boston-area river
(CNN) - Authorities in suburban Boston came to the rescue late last week when a dog fell through a frozen river.
Police in Wellesley, Mass., about 16 miles west of downtown Boston, got a call from a frantic owners that their dog, Crosby, had fallen through the ice while walking on the frozen Charles River.
Firefighters came to the rescue, donning special cold-water survival suits and diving into the frigid river to retrieve Crosby, who was about 50 yards offshore.
Luckily, rescuers got to the dog, got her warm and reunited her with a thankful owner.
