Mike Shanahan nearly left Redskins after 2012 season, ESPN reports
(WJLA) - The relationship between Mike Shanahan and the Washington Redskins organization got so bad near the end of last season that he cleaned out his office before last January's playoff loss, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Schefter cites sources that say that Shanahan was in the midst of major disagreements with team owner Daniel Snyder, especially over the way that the franchise was treating then-rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III.
The ESPN report says that Shanahan felt that Snyder's perceived favoritism toward RG3 was a "complete farce." To that end, Schefter reports that Shanahan cleaned out his office before his team's 24-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and was considering leaving the team once the season ended.
