Oscar Alexander Orellana killed in Silver Spring crash

(WJLA) - Police are investigating an overnight crash in Silver Spring that left a Wheaton teenager dead.

Investigators say a 2003 Infinity G35 collided with a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe head-on in the 11700 block of Old Columbia Pike around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Oscar Alexander Orellana, 18, a front seat passenger of the Infiniti, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Infiniti, Cristian Omar Vargas, 19, and a rear seat passenger, Kyle Robinson, 23, were transported with non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Tahoe, Edwin Alexander Rivera, 25, was also transported with non life-threatening injuries.

According to authorities, the Infiniti was traveling northbound and crossed the center line where it collided with the Tahoe. Investigators are looking at whether alcohol and seat belt usage may have been factors.
