Prince George's County Police officer shot in District Heights
DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. (WJLA) - A Prince George's County Police officer was shot Saturday night in an exchange of gunfire with a suspect in District Heights, authorities say.
The shooting happened just after 8:45 p.m. in the 6000 block of Parkland Court, Prince George's County Police officials say. While the shot officer was protected by his bulletproof vest, the suspect was shot in the face and sustained critical injuries.
Both the suspect and the officer were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The officer's injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
Two other suspects in connection with the shooting were taken into custody.
