Royal British Navy sailors enjoy Christmas in Antarctica
(WJLA) - Dreaming of a white Christmas? It's the longest of long shots to happen in the Washington area, but there's no lack of it in Antarctica for these sailors.
Members of the British Royal Navy decided to celebrate Christmas a little bit early over the weekend, and judging by the way they did it, it was probably a bit chilly.
Crew members from the HMS Protector took a break from surveying and patroling to enjoy the holiday during what's currently the Antarctic summer.
They sat down for turkey dinner - set up in the snow, of all places - and got together for a friendly game of soccer.
