Salvation Army bell ringer hit by woman for wishing her Happy Holidays
(WJLA) - A Salvation Army bell ringer says she was assaulted by a woman because she wished her a Happy Holidays instead of a Merry Christmas, ABC 15 in Phoenix reports.
The incident happened outside a Walmart store in Phoenix, the report says, where Kristina Vindiola wished a woman on her way into the store a Happy Holidays.
ABC 15 says the shopper came up to her and asked her if she believed in God.
"She says, 'You're supposed to say Merry Christmas,'" Vindiola said. "And that's when she hit me."
The Salvation Army doesn't mandate how its bell ringers greet potential red kettle donors.
