Suspicious death investigated in Laurel
RUSSETT, Md. (WJLA) - Authorities are classifying the death of a person in Laurel as suspicious.
Anne Arundel County Police say they received a call at about 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, and when they went to check on an occupant of this townhome in the 8300 block of Frostwood Drive, they discovered a body.
Residents of the neighborhood are now very frightened, as they say it’s quiet and they had noticed nothing out of the ordinary at this particular home. The landlord says a man and a woman rented the townhome, and one of them is believed to be in the military. The victim is reported to be the male occupant.
Investigators have been combing the neighborhood looking for clues.
"He asked us if we heard anything overnight or early in the morning, a noise or a car screeching, taking off, and we said we didn't hear anything," says neighbor Roger Hopkins.
This is the second killing in the area in a little more than two weeks, though investigators say the killings are not related. This second homicide has some residents of Russett deeply troubled.
An investigation into the person's death is currently underway.
