GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WJLA) - Police say a group of women tried to steal hundreds of dollars in weaves and wigs at a beauty supply store in Montgomery County. Police say the women also had a baby with them, an infant who became part of the attack.

The entire incident was captured by the stores security system.

"They were going around putting items in their bags," explained Ian Munoz, a store employee. "She told them not to do that."

Nineteen year old Yvonne Williams was sentenced this week to five years behind bars. She was at Town Beauty Supply back in September with two other women, attempting to steal more than $800 in hair weaves and wigs.

The physical altercation started when Williams tried to take the owner's cell phone from behind the counter. The teen used a stroller with an infant in it to attack the victim, during the heist.

In the surveillance video, you can see at one point the baby slips out of the stroller and falls to the ground, hitting its head. The scuffle eventually spilled out on to the sidewalk. The three women and baby finally got away.

The store owner, in her late 60s owns several stores in the area and wants to close some of them because of this incident. Williams who already has a long past criminal record as a juvenile, was charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault, robbery and child abuse.
