Daniel Burton sentenced to over 21 years for child sex trafficking
(WJLA) - A Capitol Heights man has been sentenced to over 21 years in prison for child sex trafficking.
According to his plea agreement, Daniel "Snoop" Burton, 30, recruited a 13-year-old girl in March 2008 to work as a prostitute. For about a month, Burton drove the victim to hotels, photographed her in lingerie, and advertised her on Craigslist for sexual services, prosecutors say. Burton kept all the money the victim earned. He also provided her with alcohol, marijuana, and ecstasy.
Burton was arrested on April 8 after police noticed a Craigslist ad for the victim's sexual services.
Following his release, Burton faces a lifetime of supervised release. He must also register as a sex offender.
