Florida man flips car after texting while driving (Video)
(CNN/WINK) - A Florida man escaped major injuries last week after he rolled his car while texting and driving.
The crash happened during the early morning hours of Jan. 4 in Fort Myers, after which 23-year-old Michael Woody admitted he was sending a text message behind the wheel.
Fort Myers Police say that officers caught Woody driving erratically on a city street before crashing into a bus stop and a tree. The car then rolled over onto its top.
Woody was charged with careless driving and texting while driving. Florida's texting law is secondary in nature, meaning that a driver has to be pulled over for something else before being cited for the violation.
