GM's Week in Headlines: USIS charged with fraud, OPM layoffs, AFCEA Bethesda profile
The Department of Justice filed a civil complaint against U.S. Investigation Services. They say USIS defrauded the federal government by submitting 650,000 incomplete background checks, allowing the company to qualify for $12 million in bonuses.
USIS also handled background checks on NSA leaker Edward Snowden and Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis. Investigators say there's no evidence those checks were compromised.
